Sophie's Toon Toon

So, we came home from Costco with this plum box that they gave us to put all of our costco items in. We had the thing sitting on the floor and we heard Sophie saying "toon! toon!" over and over again. When we looked over, we saw Sophie sitting in the box. Sophie calls cars "toon toon's" because of the sound the car horn makes. So, the box became a great toy - Phil drags her all around the house carpet in her "toon toon." We would have never of thought to use it as a car. We're happy to see our baby's imagination come to life :).

Sophie!

I guess we're really bad at posting stuff on here- it's been 7 months!!! Here's an update on what's been going on:

Sophie is now really big and saying things like "agua" (water in spanish) mom, dad, baby, bike, plane, up and other things we can't understand but know what she means when we hear them. She loves the color blue (I know this because anytime there is a crayon, chalk, marker, ANYTHING that she can choose colors from, she picks the blue one and holds on to it for dear life). She loves that m&m's commercial where the m&m's are the adams family (she dances and runs to the T.V. whenever she hears it). She runs around the house like crazy. Sophie is 16 months now and getting bigger and bigger by the day. She's not a baby anymore!!

As for Phil and I, we are still in Temecula and we really love it. Our neighborhood is nice and we have tons of friends here. We go to the community pool and hang out at home and just chill.

Sophie's First Video

video

This is Sophie's first video right after she was born in the hospital. It is amazing how much she has grown and how she is the same also. We love her so much and are so happy to have such a great little girl.

Sophie's First Christmas

Sophie's first Christmas has come and gone and she loved it. She got more gifts than mom and dad combined. This season brought new and exciting things such as Sophie's love of Christmas lights, her new ability to say "ooh" and make her lips pucker up as she says it, and Sophie's ability to crawl super fast towards the christmas tree.

She got lots of presents. Here's the breakdown:
1) Hello kitty radio/tape/cd player (who knew they still made these things with a tape deck?)
2) a VTECH fake chordless phone
3) a Fisher Price Baby Grand Piano (she played with it more when it was under the tree in the box with the keys exposed)
4) Clothes, sweat suits (hoodie and pant combo - AWESOME) shirts, pants, etc. etc.
5) Jar of letter cut outs (we're reserving this one for a few years, we are saving the mess for then)
6) A christmas cabbage patch baby that is a hybrid between a Christmas tree and a cabbage patch kid. She loves the baby and gives it kisses. It was meant to be though, the baby's birth certificate said her name was Leslie Iris, and Sophie is Sophia Iris....it was certainly MEANT TO BE!
7) A Fisher Price gumball machine toy thing. She likes it and has learned to maneuver the lever to get the balls out.
8) A Quilt that grandma scollick made (you can never have too many)
9) A new car seat

That's all that we can think of right now. We're sure there are more presents.

Sophie and her Bunny

she likes to eat his ears.

SECOND Attempt - RICE CEREAL

Sophie tried rice cereal again. It worked. She ate it all and she didn't throw up. After some rice cereal and a bath she went to sleep at 10:00 p.m. We are excited about this new development and hope that it happens daily, as she has been keeping us up (especially daddy) by going to bed at 11:30 -12:00 EVERY NIGHT since she was born!! Anyways, while feeding on rice cereal she managed to get in a few slurps of her favorite treat....her toes! She is constantly sucking on her toes. In her stroller, in the car, while playing and now while eating. That's our girl!

I'm GROWING

Our little girl is growing more and more everyday. She is now giggling at Mommy and Daddy, rolling over and can even count to 10...just kidding. She enjoys going to Disneyland and riding "Its a Small World" and looking at all the little people. She also really likes the "Pirates of the Carribean" and looking at the crazy pirate people. She is getting more sassy and her personality is coming out more and more everyday. Sophie is liking her new crib/house. She has many new neighbor kids to play with and will running wild in the streets very soon. Sophie also really likes eating and sucking on fruit especially mangos, there her favorite. She is a cutie!!!!
